Ashley Rivera, PhD(c), LMHC
Holistic Mental Health & Trauma-Informed Therapist; EMDR Certified
Struggling with anxiety, trauma, emotional dysregulation, burnout, or feeling stuck? Maybe you’re navigating a difficult life transition, struggling in your relationships, or simply want to understand yourself on a deeper level. Let’s work together to move beyond just getting by and toward feeling more grounded, confident, and connected to yourself. I believe therapy is about more than treating symptoms—it’s about understanding you as a whole person. I take a deeply individualized approach to therapy, taking the time to understand your story, identify patterns, recognize your strengths, and understand what may be keeping you stuck. Together, we create a therapeutic approach that is tailored to who you are, what you’re experiencing, and where you want to go. I work with teenagers, young adults, adults, older adults, and families experiencing concerns such as Borderline Personality Disorder, bipolar disorder and other mood disorders, depression, anxiety, social anxiety, ADHD, PTSD and trauma, postpartum depression, grief, burnout, relationship difficulties, substance use, and major life transitions. I also support individuals living with serious and complex mental illnesses, including schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders. I also work with victims of narcicistic abuse. I especially enjoy supporting young adults navigating identity, relationships, independence, school, and career decisions; immigrants adjusting to a new culture and life; women navigating postpartum changes; and older adults experiencing grief, adjustment, and major life transitions. I also provide family therapy to improve communication, strengthen relationships, establish healthier boundaries, and create healthier patterns. My approach is holistic, trauma-informed, and individualized, integrating CBT, DBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, grounding and somatic techniques, emotional processing, and EMDR-informed approaches. I believe therapy should never feel one-size-fits-all. Whether you’re healing from trauma, learning to regulate intense emotions, managing a mood disorder, navigating anxiety or relationships, adjusting to a new chapter, working through substance use, or simply thinking, “I want to learn more about myself,” therapy can be a place to begin. You don’t have to have everything figured out. Together, we can understand your story, uncover what’s keeping you stuck, build on your strengths, and create a personalized path toward greater self-awareness, balance, and lasting change.
