Berta Jean Gonzalez, MS, RMHCI
Individual & Family Therapy; Specializing in Child Welfare
I am a Registered Mental Health Counselor with a Master’s degree in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Oral Roberts University. Born in Tarrytown, New York, I bring over 25 years of experience in child welfare, an area that has deeply shaped my commitment to supporting children, families, and individuals through complex life challenges.
My therapeutic approach is integrative and client-centered, drawing from evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Play Therapy. I also incorporate a faith-based perspective when it aligns with clients’ personal values and preferences. I strive to create a compassionate, collaborative, and safe therapeutic environment where clients feel understood, empowered, and supported in developing practical tools for healing and growth.
I have extensive experience working with children, families, and couples, addressing concerns such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, parenting challenges, marital conflict and infidelity, and interpersonal relationship difficulties. My goal is to help clients build resilience, strengthen relationships, and move toward lasting, meaningful change.
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy gardening, hiking, running, playing the piano, traveling, and tackling DIY projects, which help me stay grounded and balanced.
