What are Ketamine Infusions?
Ketamine has been safely used in medical settings since its FDA approval in 1970. Recognized by the World Health Organization as an essential medicine, it has a long-standing reputation for safety when administered under professional supervision. In recent years, growing research has uncovered ketamine’s powerful potential in mental health care. It has shown promising results in treating conditions such as treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, PTSD, and suicidal thoughts—especially for individuals who haven’t responded to traditional therapies. If you’re exploring new options for your mental health, a conversation with your provider can help determine whether ketamine therapy is the right path for you.
Promotes Brain Connectivity
Ketamine can help mend and fortify brain connections that may have been harmed by persistent stress, trauma, or depression.
Reduces Inflammation
It works to decrease brain inflammation, which is associated with conditions like mood disorders, PTSD, and chronic pain.
Creates New Pathways
Ketamine promotes the growth of new neural pathways, aiding the brain in adapting to stress and negative emotions.

Frequently Asked
Questions
Can I eat or drink before my treatments?

You do not need to fast.  We recommend, however, that you refrain from eating 4 hours prior to your treatment.  You may drink clear fluids up to 2 hours prior.

Is it safe to drive to my infusion appointment?

No, it is not safe to drive yourself. Ketamine can impair your ability to drive, so it is essential to have a trusted friend or family member pick you up. We also recommend avoiding operating heavy machinery, taking care of small children, engaging in strenuous activities, or signing any legal documents for at least a day after your infusion. If you cannot arrange for someone to pick you up, using a ridesharing service or taxi is acceptable, but you may need to stay longer post-infusion and incur additional fees.

How will I feel after the infusion?

You may feel a bit groggy right after the infusion; but you will quickly be back to baseline shortly after.  We recommend that you do not engage in any physically taxing activities, avoid driving or operating heavy equipment, and avoid making important decisions for the rest of the day.

How long do the ketamine treatment sessions take?

The infusion itself takes about 45 minutes, but there are activities that occur before and after the infusion. The infusion is administered under the direction and supervision of the medical provider. You should plan on being at our clinic for at least 90 minutes per treatment session.

Will I need to do ketamine treatment for the rest of my life?

Most patients who respond to Ketamine therapy require “maintenance” infusions on an ongoing basis following the initial series of treatments. The frequency of these maintenance infusions varies from person to person and may be as often as one (1) to two (2) times per-month; while other patients may find their symptoms are manageable with little need for additional Ketamine.
